Airbus A340-600 of Lufthansa on Climbing Phase

Lufthansa to temporarily suspend flights to Venezuela as next month due to economic difficulties in the South American nation and conversion issues local currency into dollars.

International airlines have for years fought to repatriate billions of dollars in revenue held in the local currency Bolivar, due to exchange controls, which led many to limit service and require passengers to pay the dollar rates.

"We deeply regret that for these reasons, we will have to suspend our service between Caracas and Frankfurt from June 18," the company wrote in a statement, noting that the demand for international flights to Caracas fell in 2015 and the first quarter 2016. Lufthansa has no plans to close its office in Caracas, anyway.

After a loss of two years in oil prices, OPEC nation in South America is struggling with a deep recession and the highest rate of inflation in the world, which has foreign travel beyond the reach of most its citizens.

In other hand, American Airlines in last March said it was dropping a direct flight between Caracas and recently reincorporated New York due to very low demand.

Denmark To Purchase 27 F-35 jet fighter. The defense ministry have recommended the selection of the Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter aircraft as the future of the nation, after an evaluation involving the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet and the Eurofighter Typhoon.

Announced by Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen on May 12, Denmark to acquire 27 conventional takeoff and landing F-35As occurs after an expert panel classified the type for the first time in all criteria. The type US "Will involve the greatest potential to promote Danish interests, both in terms of security policy and military strategy" and "provide the highest degree of flexibility at the political level with respect to future tasks", states the Ministry of Defence.

During the evaluation, the Typhoon was second candidate- but more expensive - while the third candidate is Boeing Super Hornet. A summary document states: "the small group of users Super Hornet and the geographic location of users away from the neighboring areas of Denmark have been contributing factors."

As an international long-term partner in the F-35 project, the European nation had previously projected a potential to be for 30 units purchase. However, the MoD says the new figure of 27 reflects the economic challenges facing the country. If completed, an acquisition would replace its Lockheed F-16AM/BMS series. Unfortunately, they not revealed the deal worth to, but analyst said that it would be billions of dollars deal.

NASA Astronauts Prepare For Commercial Flights. Five years after the last NASA astronauts flew from Cape Canaveral, Florida, to the International Space Station, a new group is preparing for a trip, this time in a private spacecraft.

On Tuesday, Eric Boe and veteran astronauts Sunita Williams touchscreen use simulators to practice docking spacecraft CST-100 Starliner Boeing Co., with the space station during a training session near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. The simulator, called the Group of the Party-coach, helps prepare astronauts and flight controllers for missions, flight conditions and situations, including rendezvous and docking with the space station.
"This is the next exciting chapter for our country and our space program," Williams said. "It refocuses on what I think is very important to planning for future generations and thinking about their future."

The United States has not seen a manned from Atlantis took off on the final mission of space shuttle launch in 2011. NASA is currently hiring source their performances and paying Russia to transport astronauts to the space station.

The space agency wants to continue the outsourcing of tasks so you can focus on getting astronauts beyond low Earth orbit and Mars and other destinations. NASA is developing the Orion spacecraft and space launch system for those longer journeys and has a contract with Boeing and other US company SpaceX to transport astronauts to the space station.

"If you think of Mars as the summit of Everest (and) low-Earth orbit as a base camp, commercial enterprises that service low Earth orbit are the sherpas who take things back and forth," said Chris Ferguson, director the attached program and COO of the crew and mission for the program Boeing commercial crew. "It allows NASA to go and carry out its mission of exploration."

The cost of a trip on a private spacecraft, which runs USD 58 million will be cheaper than the Russia aorund USD 76 million per trip, according to NASA.

Boeing's role in space exploration began in the 1960s the McDonnell Aircraft, which later merged with McDonnell Douglas before its merger with Boeing-developed the Mercury and Gemini space capsules.

In 2014, NASA awarded Boeing USD 4.2 million to develop the Starliner, its operations launch vehicle and mission and ground systems. The contracts with Boeing and SpaceX, which is developing a crew capsule next generation, total USD 6.8 billion and require at least a test flight with at least one NASA astronaut aboard. Boeing contract includes up to six missions to the space station.

Division of Defense, Space & Security Boeing is building several training devices in St. Louis, including the part in tasks coach and a simulator of large-scale mission astronauts will run through rehearsals, the problems during the launch of the recovery of the spacecraft. The simulator and other training devices will be delivered to the Johnson Space Center in Houston over the next year.

Boeing and SpaceX are targeting test flights to the space station in late 2017.

Boeing 737 MAX first flight

Boeing to Retain 737 Jetliner, Boeing 737 MAX At The First Flight

Boeing to Retain 737 Jetliner, The aircraft maker Boeing Co. is prepared to defend his rainmaker Boeing 737 jetliner as competition heats up at the top and the bottom of the single-aisle market profit, Chief Executive Dennis Muilenburg said.

The threat to the US aircraft maker It was highlighted when Delta Air Lines Inc. last week announced orders for all new aircraft from Bombardier Inc. Series C and largest jet narrow-body Airbus group. The Airbus A321neo has captured 85 percent of the orders against its Boeing 737 Max 9, while the C Series is finally making inroads with smaller planes.

"We would not be surprised if Boeing were to change its narrow-body strategy in order to maintain their competitive edge," Ron Epstein, an analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, wrote in a note to clients. "With orders Delta, Lufthansa and Air Canada and circulation of this year, the C Series is no longer a nuisance. The C series is a credible threat that has come to stay."

Boeing is considering its potential to the "middle market" dominated by once out of production Boeing 757 aircraft where larger narrow-body smaller twin-aisle models overlap segment response. Recreational stretch: the 737 largest Max and equipment with improved engines and a new landing gear to counter the A321neo.

"We will continue to watch the market, have productive conversations with customers," Muilenburg said at the annual general meeting of Boeing in Chicago on Monday. "If we have to make further movement in that space, we will be ready." The urgency has grown as Airbus took a commanding lead sales of its aircraft single-aisle. Ray Conner, executive director of the unit of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, told employees in February that it wanted to develop a strategy in the next 12 months.

The challenge is to find a design that justifies the renewed investment by airlines without undermining the 737, the largest gold mine Boeing. The horse battle jet favored by low-cost airlines, accounting for about 25 percent of total revenue, according to Bloomberg Intelligence analyst George Ferguson. The order book without cover 737 could be the most valuable asset of Boeing, at about $ 200 billion, according to Bloomberg estimates intelligence.

"We are in a strong position, but we also know that it is a competitive market," Muilenburg said. "We have the right products, but we will be relentless in our efforts productivity and ongoing costs."

Boeing has explored all new designs that will not be released for about a decade, including an elliptical frame with double aisles to speed up passenger boarding. Recently, the planemaker has also focused on simpler repairs that could reach the market quickly. The manufacturer has approached Max 7 customers Southwest Airlines and WestJet Airlines Ltd., about a redesign that would involve decreasing under the Max 8 to strengthen the capacity of the cabin and range.

British Airways Boeing 777 Intercepted by Hungarian Air Force. A British Airways flight was intercepted by fighter jets over Hungary air space after losing contact with air traffic controllers. According to reports, the Boeing 777-200 of flight number BA2018 was escorted by two Hungarian Air Force Saab JAS 39 Gripen aircraft scrambled to identify after it passed over its border not announced on Saturday afternoon.

The flight, BA108, was en route from Dubai to Heathrow when it was detected by the Hungarian Ministry of Defense. According to the protocols of aviation safety, pilots must make contact with air traffic controllers on the ground as fly over from one country to another country.

When the (BA) British Airways plane did not, reportedly, the Hungarian authorities issued their highest alert and the pair of fighter jets sent to identify the aircraft and make sure he was making progress accordingly.

The Gripen reportedly took off at 12.55 am local time before the BA flight made contact with ground control. The planes returned to their base at 1.20 am local time. In the other hand, airline spokesman said: "Communication can be restored in air traffic control and the aircraft landed normally at Heathrow."

There have been several similar incidents in the recent past, where civil commercial flights have inadvertently triggered security alerts high level. In October 2015, passengers aboard a Monarch airlines flight from Madeira to Birmingham seen combat aircraft in the vicinity of the plane after the communication of French airspace is lost.
